Prep for Friendsgiving.

After all, Friendsgiving is a time of year when we acknowledge what we are grateful for and share wholesome company with family and friends.

When you host Friendsgiving, you can be in charge of the menu, the drinks, and the whole vibe. So, you get to plan a meal you want to eat. It’s an awesome opportunity to celebrate and give thanks with your friends.

Even better!

Almost every dish in this Friendsgiving recipe guide, can be made and prepped on your very own Grilla Grill. We put together this year’s perfect Friendsgiving menu.

P.S. Everything is in chronological cooking order. So follow this menu and you’ll be feasting in no time.

Smoked Chicken- (amazingly delicious smoked on our Silverbac grill) (prep. time: 5.5hrs)

A roasted chicken is a great dish to serve at a Friendsgiving, even better to smoke on a Grilla Grill.

Season with a nice Italian and garlic blend of seasonings and make sure it has enough oil to keep it juicy you will have a show stopper as the main protein source for your Friendsgiving.

Tip: Don’t be afraid to add a lot of seasoning, just be wary with salt!

Smoked Chicken Recipe

After your times up just make sure that the thickest part of the chicken has reached 165 degrees and then you’re ready to plate and serve your succulent smoked chicken!

Butternut Squash Soup- (prep. Time: 1 hour)

This butternut squash soup is perfect for a Friendsgiving celebration because it’s both easy and impressive. What’s more, it’s a healthy soup that is low in calories, high in vitamins. This soup is a great starter for a Friendsgiving party because its simple to make. What’s more, it’s a great choice for a Friendsgiving party because it can be made in advance and reheated easily. Let’s get into it.

You are going to want to roast or smoke your butternut squash for 45 minutes to an hour, until nice and tender.

If you really want that smokey flavor, we recommend cutting it and then smoking it for the same 45 minutes/until tender. Let the smoke flavor seep into the squash!

  • Cut open your squash and scoop out the seeds.
  • From there cut it up into smaller chunks to go into the blender.
  • Toss the squash pieces into a blender
  • Add a 1/2 cup of vegetable broth
  • Half a quarter stick of butter
  • A tablespoon of brown sugar,
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • A few tbsp olive oil. You can either roast a garlic shallot with your squash or simmer them on the pot.
  • Add a pinch of salt and blend until you’ve got your creamy soup!

Bon Appetit.

Kale and Sweet Potato Salad- (smoke your sweet potatoes on your Grilla) (prep. Time: 45 minutes)

While you are smoking your chicken on the grill.

You should wash and prepare your sweet potatoes for your amazing kale and sweet potato salad. Smoke both the sweet potatoes and chickpeas in your smoker for approximately 45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender! Chickpeas roast until desired texture.

You’ll need to gather ingredients such as;

  • Kale
  • Sweet potato
  • Chickpeas
  • Sweet potato, which can both be smoked on the grill. Preferably at a slow setting.
  • Feta
  • Dried cherries
  • Tablespoon of maple syrup.

Ingredients for the dressing:

  • Use a nice olive oil
  • A squeeze or two of lemon juice
  • A tablespoon of Apple cider vinegar
  • And a teaspoon of maple syrup
  • A hint of salt and pepper for taste

For that crunchy crunch, sprinkle sunflower or pumpkin seeds on top, with dried cherries and your smoked chickpeas.

Tip: don’t add seeds or cheese until you are ready to eat for maximum crunch and freshness.

Mashed Potatoes- (The classic)(also delectable when you smoke taters on your Grilla)

Depending on the amount of people you have at your Friendsgiving (amounts can vary)

  • Anywhere from 4-9 potatoes. Scrub and dry them
  • Toss them in your smoker with your chicken
  • Poke them with a fork all over
  • Drizzle them with olive oil.
  • Season them with your favorite garlic or seasoning rub.

Leave them in the smoker on a foil pan to catch the oil drips and smoke them for 35-45 minutes until squishy.

Grab them out of your Grilla and then mash them and add butter and salt and cheese if you are feeling crazy! After all that you are ready to enjoy!

Happy Friendsgiving.
