Heating Technology The Primate is a gas powered cooking machine and can be fueled by a propane tank, or by hooking it up to a natural gas source. (Natural Gas hookup sold separately.) With four lines of burners which can be run together, or independently, the Primate pumps out 60,000 BTU of cooking power! When starting your Primate, the electrical igniter will continue to spark as you hold down the soft-rubber toggle. Once one burner is ignited, the subsequent burners will automatically ignite without having to depress the ignition button again, as long as they are open for gas to flow. Double-Wall Insulated Lid We've heard time and time again that wind is a killer when working on a gas grill or griddle. Nobody wants a breezy day to ruin a good cook, and we definitely don't want to put our grill away for winter either! So how did we fix that? With Grilla Grills signature double wall insulation. ClearView Grease Management System When we tested this grill, and asked our owners what was most important to them, we found grease management to be a huge sticking point! Because of that, we spent extra time to design a dual-reservoir system that will make grease-trap clogs and overflow a thing of the past. With our ClearView Grease Management System the Primate will give you the ability to monitor your runoff better than ever. When the griddle is in use, a large drain opening will allow you to watch as the grease drains into your easy-clean stainless steel hopper. You'll be able to easily monitor the drain, and it's housing, to ensure the tunnel is clear of debris. While being used as a grill, there is a large grease catch that spans the entire length of the cooking surface. When you want to clean the tray, simply pull the handle at the front of the unit and the entire shelf will come out, allowing you to clean it out without having to go inside the body of your grill! With a surface area large enough to grill eight whole chickens, you have enough space to feed a small army. The Alpha differs from our other Silverbac models due to its one-of-a-kind dual “Alpha Smoke” controller technology that lets you select PID mode or Grilla’s traditional-style mode. Heating Technology The Alpha can cook at temperatures between 180 and 500 degrees in 5-degree increments. The included meat probe and digital control system let you keep close tabs on the grill temperature as well as the temperature of your meat. The blower fan not only enables even, convection cooking, it also helps you avoid any flare-ups that can ruin your cook. All of the components are made of high-quality materials, including the burn grate and firepot which are both made of stainless steel. Safety Features The Silverbac Alpha is built for performance and safety, with shutdown settings that turn the grill off if the temperature exceeds 615°F. When this temperature is reached, shutdown is initiated, and an error message will be displayed. On the other end of the spectrum, if the grill drops below 110°F, shutdown is initiated, and an error message will be displayed.
