Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers

Easy recipe for the big game. Kick up the spice with Grilla Grills one-of-a-kind bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers to give your guests something deliciously unexpected.

Ingredients

Directions

First, take a chef’s knife and chop off the top of the jalapeños. To avoid getting the spicy oils on your fingers, we recommend wearing a pair of rubber gloves. Once the tops are chopped off, find the widest part and make a cut lengthwise.

Next, take a paring knife to remove the seeds. You can leave some seeds behind if you want your poppers to have extra heat. Then, add your pimento cheese spread into the hollowed-out jalapeño. Top this off with a sprinkle of the Grilla Grill’s All Purpose Rub.

Next, grab a piece of bacon to wrap around the jalapeño. Start rolling at the wide end and roll until the bacon reaches the bottom of the opposite end. Use a toothpick to secure the bacon and then place the wrapped poppers onto a wire rack.

Preheat Silverbac to 275 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for 45 minutes. Check about halfway through, but there is no need to flip.

Remove your jalapeño poppers, let them cool for several minutes and enjoy!

Tips for Prepping Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers

Is this the first time you’ve tried stuffed jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon on the grill? You’ll definitely want to keep these hints in mind:

  • Wear rubber gloves: Trust us. You might not be afraid of a little jalapeno pepper, but you should definitely respect its intensity. If you use your bare hands, you could easily end up transferring the juice from the pepper onto other items or your skin. And forget about rubbing your eyes. If you do go with the bare hands method, give your fingers a good scrubbing post-pepper handling.
  • Choose choice cuts of bacon: Have you ever been disappointed by bacon that seems too flimsy to make much of a splash? Opt for meatier cuts of bacon and thicker slices. They’ll still wrap nicely but will not be too hard to handle.
  • Make more than you think you’ll need: Most of the time, pitmasters aim to make just what the recipe calls for. But if you’re planning a party or having friends over for a cookout, you will absolutely want to have more than enough to share.

How to Keep Your Grilled Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers Warm

The melty cheese. The hot bacon. The bite of the jalapeno. What could be better than grilled stuffed jalapeno poppers straight from your smoker?

Of course, sometimes you can’t serve up your grilled stuffed poppers immediately. But you don’t want them to get cold, either. Fear not —we have the perfect solution for you.

First, if you’re going to serve your grilled stuffed jalapeno poppers fairly soon, wrap them securely in aluminum foil. This traps the heat for a while and gives you a nice grace period.

Need a little more time for your jalapeno poppers to sit? Place them in an aluminum pan, cover them with foil and then keep them in an oven heated to about 250 degrees. They will stay toasty longer and be ready when your crowd wants a little heat.
