Grilled Chicken Wings Recipe

 

Every chicken wing enthusiast on the planet is constantly shopping for a better grilled chicken wing recipe. If you have been chowing down on chicken wings since you were a pup, you absolutely must try chicken wings on a pellet grill. Nowhere else can you get the flavor or texture that comes from a crispy, smoked chicken wing.

The only downside to our crispy grilled chicken wings recipe? You will never be able to enjoy chicken wings from any other place again. But maybe that is not such a bad thing. After all, it gives you one more excuse to fire up your smoker and make some foodie magic happen!

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs. fresh chicken wings or drumettes (or your favorite parts)
  • ½ C baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 bottle Grilla BBQ sauce
  • 1 bottle of your favorite hot sauce
  • 1 C Grilla AP Rub

Directions

Take the chicken wings (or the parts of your choice) and place them in large zip top bag. Add the baking powder and salt, shake well to coat. The baking powder will help crisp the wings on the grill. Let them sit in the bag for about 15 minutes before removing. Remove the wings from the bag and shake off any excess baking powder. Lay them on a large baking sheet. Season generously with the rub. Combine the barbeque sauce with the hot sauce and mix well.

Preheat your Grilla or Silverbac to 275 to 300 degrees.

Cook wings until they are done (185 degrees internal temp), turning them often to keep them from burning. Once you remove the wings from the heat, toss them in the sauce. They will stay crispy for several minutes in the sauce.

Pairing Grilled Chicken Wings With the Right Sauce

Astronauts who landed on the moon had the right stuff. As a grilling artist, you just need the right sauce, especially for your chicken wings smoked with flavored hickory, mesquite or apple pellets.

Although we suspect that you already have a go-to chicken wing dipping sauce that makes you go crazy, you can always use more.
